1413. Thursday 3-8-2012 TEVFD and Sta. 5 alerted to a residential structure 2281 Harris Hill Rd. Dunnsville area. Essex communications received several more calls on this fire. Reporting to units responding residence was fully involved. Chief 1 Thomas arrived sortly after dispatch, reporte 100 plus year old residence 2 story frame fully involved with fire showing from all sides. Request from command for 1 engine and tanker from Richmond County. Plus 1 tanker from Middlesex County. Waterview Station.

Operations were hampered upon high winds. Exposure of porpane tank next residence was the first concern. Additional problems arrose shortly after. Wind driven embers from the fire set a hay barn on fire several hundred feet from the main fire. Defensive operations established with several hand lines drawn to knock down the fire. The Red Cross was called to assist the residence. Shorty after the bulk of the fire was knocked down. Richmond Co. Engine 1 was detailed to fill Essex Co. Station 1.

Units responding on the call, TEVFD Engine 1,2, Rescue 1, Tankers 2,3, TVRS Medic 52. Richmond County Engine 1, Tanker 1, Middlesex County Tanker 63. TEVFD/TVRS Ladies Auxiliary was alerted to assist with cold refreshments.
